The Peak District is so convenient for many people living in the UK and it is
worth making more than a day of it. With so many places of interest to explore
in beautiful and accessible countryside you can spend a long weekend or longer
holiday without the hassle of a long-distance journey to get their from your home.
We have produced a series of ten themed guides to help you explore what the region
has to offer in terms of its rich wildlife, history and culture. They are all
linked to places to stay, eat and drink which can make your visit to the Peak
District all the more enjoyable.
In November 2007 the Peak Experience guides won top honours in the 'countryside
interpretation' category at the Friends of the Peak District's 'Countryside Awards
2007'.
New for 2008 is a series of podcast episodes on the life and death of the red
grouse, the iconic moorland bird of the Peak District.
