About Peak Experience
Peak Experience is your guide to the best of the Peak District’s natural and
cultural heritage.
The Peak District is a
special landscape with a rich tapestry of stories to tell. From wildlife to ancient monuments,
antiques shops to haunted houses, and film locations to historic churches – there
is always much more to discover.
A number of
Partners have come together to produce a series of ten themed
Peak Experience guides. These will be published as leaflets and on this web site between July 2006
and April 2007. Look out for downloadable self-guided walks that will be available
on this web site over the next few months.
We are also installing a range of new interpretation features at selected locations
across the Peak District. These include:
- bird-cam systems at Carsington and Tittesworth Reservoirs
- an interactive multimedia touchscreen about the geology of Dovedale and the Manifold
Valley at Ilam Park
- and new information boards on Stanton Moor, in the Wye Valley and at Arbor Low,
Eyam, Monyash, Over Haddon and Youlgreave.
We hope the guides will make your visit more enjoyable and perhaps encourage
you to stay a little longer.
