The first UFO in the Peak District
Chapel-en-le-Frith recorded in its the parish registers the very first sighting of a UFO in the Peak District in March 1716. The light they
saw may have been an unusually brilliant appearance of the Northern Lights, the
Aurora Borealis. It terrified the local residents and those in other villages.
