Interpretation in Ashover
Interpretation in Ashover
The unearthing of two Bronze Age Rock Art boulders at Ashover was exciting for
the village, school and the county’s archaeologists. Thanks to the enthusiasm
of teachers Ian Ridgway and Marisa Signora, and a major grant from the Local Heritage
Initiative, the school was able to employ local archaeologist Frank Robinson to
lead the building of a replica pre-historic Roundhouse as part of a community
education project which harnessed the local interest in this enigmatic rock art.
The project was recorded on video by Frank Parker
